The KC300x Stage 1 Gen 3 Turbo is a true drop-in performance upgrade for the 7.3L Powerstroke, delivering faster spool, increased airflow, and proven power gains without sacrificing reliability. Developed through years of R&D and dyno testing, this Gen 3 design outperforms previous KC300x versions and other drop-in turbos on the market.
At the core is a redesigned Gen 3 7x7 SXE-style compressor wheel with upgraded aerodynamics, paired with a thick-shaft SXE-style turbine wheel built to handle higher boost levels with improved durability. The modern 0.70 A/R ported compressor cover and 0.91 A/R turbine housing feature advanced volute geometry, an improved MAP groove, and anti-surge design. Allowing the turbo to spool faster than older 0.84 A/R housings while flowing more air than previous 1.0 A/R designs. The result is stronger low-end response with improved top-end power.
Reliability is significantly enhanced with 200% larger thrust and journal bearings, a thicker turbine shaft to reduce deflection, and a redesigned bearing housing with an integrated cast-iron backing plate for increased rigidity under extreme heat and pressure. A steel thrust insert further reinforces critical wear areas, addressing common failure points found in stock turbochargers.
This turbo installs as a 100% drop-in replacement, requiring no modifications. It includes all necessary gaskets, O-rings, and an upgraded 4" intake boot for improved fitment.
