Apex Chassis KIT121 Black Aluminum Tie Rod Dana 44 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL JT

Apex Chassis KIT121 Black Aluminum Tie Rod Dana 44 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL JT

Tired of vague steering, clunks, or bent factory tie rods after bigger tires, added weight or harder trails? This is a complete, heavy-duty replacement tie rod assembly designed to restore strength, precision, and confidence to the front end of your Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator. It replaces the entire factory tie rod with a stronger adjustable aluminum rod, forged steel tie rod ends (left and right), and locking Ninja Washers for a secure, no-slip setup. It’s built for stock Dana 44 axles (Rubicon/MaxTow wide axles) and is made to handle conditions that factory steering just isn’t designed for.

The stock tie rod is actually one of the first steering components to flex or bend once you add larger tires, wheel spacers, or see trail time. This kit dramatically improves durability, steering feel, and alignment stability while still allowing proper adjustment. It’s greaseable, pre-greased, and features metal-to-metal bearings with high-quality rubber boots to keep dirt out and lubrication in, resulting in longer life and easier maintenance.

Every major component in this tie rod is overbuilt on purpose. Forged SAE steel housings, chromoly ball studs with rolled threads, heat-treated wear surfaces, and a 2" 7075-T6 aluminum adjusting rod deliver strength without unnecessary weight. Built-in “Flopper Stoppers” prevent unwanted rotation without removing the boot, and the exclusive Ninja Lock Washers eliminate weak pinch clamps for a cleaner, more secure install. The result is a steering system that’s smoother on the road, tougher off-road, and engineered to last!

Wrenches Needed:

  • 46mm x 2 (Apex part KIT503 46mm/48mm)
  • 19MM Castle Nuts

Note: Apex Chassis recommends the steering stabilizer be fitted in the stock location, or a relocation kit may be required. This kit works with a 17" wheel with a 4.75" backspacing or less. If you run AEV or stock Rubicon wheels, you'll need a 1.5" spacer.
